Trans Nzoia County is county number 026 in the Kenya County codes. It is found in the rift valley region of the county and borders Bungoma to the west, Uasin Gishu and Kakamega to the south, Elgeyo Marakwet to the east, West Pokot to the north and the republic of Uganda to North West. It has a population of 990,341 and covers approximately an area of 2495.5 km². The county is divided into five subcounties namely:
