Turkana county is county number 023 in the Kenya county codes. It covers an area of 77,000Km ² and has a population of 926,976. It is found in the former Rift Valle province bordering West Pokot and Baringo Counties to the south, Samburu County to the South East, and Marsabit County to the East. Internationally it borders South Sudan to the north, Uganda to the west and Ethiopia to the north east. It is divided into seven subcounties namely;
